The Conference Finals are set! We get to enjoy watching the Tampa Bay Lightning take on the New York Islanders in the East and The Vegas Golden Knights battle it out with the Dallas Stars in the West. Aside from those four fan bases, and the more dedicated fans, most hockey fans have moved their attention to the upcoming NHL Draft. Now that the draft order is set, spots 1 thru 27 at least, we can get a better look at team needs for possible draft choices.

If you read my MockDraft2.0, you’ll remember that it lasted 40 hours, give or take, before the Maple Leafs and Penguins made a trade. That trade saw the Pittsburgh Penguins acquire Kasperi Kapanen, Pontas Åberg, and Jesper Lindgren in exchange for Evan Rodriguez, David Warsofsky, Filip Hållander, and the 15th overall pick in the upcoming draft. While I wouldn’t call this a blockbuster by any means, it did change how I thought the draft could go.

As most of you know, I don’t claim to be a prospect guru. I utilize all the resources available to me, Dobber, Elite Prospects, numerous Hockey Twitter prospect guys, and Youtube for my mocks.

But enough waiting, let’s get to it.

Not many changes. I do think that if Toronto keeps the pick, they will go with a defenseman. But there are so many great forward options still there at 15. I guess we will see.

There you have it. Hopefully, this one stays relevant a little longer than the last one.
