Three years ago tonight marked what would be one of the most impossible finishes to a hockey game ever. The Los Angeles Kings came to Boston on Halloween weekend in 2017 looking for a big win. I happened to be in attendance for this game and it was pretty standard heading into overtime. Every fan was all set to head to the dreadful shootout when Boston iced the puck with 0.9 seconds left in overtime.
The Kings took a chance and pulled their goalie to make it a four on three for the remaining time. Impossible to score, right? That’s what I thought. Anze Kopitar won the faceoff as clean as it could be and Tyler Toffoli in one motion snapped it by goalie Tuukka Rask in a span of 0.5 seconds. It shocked not just everyone in Boston, but all over the world as well.

This probably had a 0.000000001 % chance of working and the Kings executed it with perfection. As a Boston fan, I can say that I was mainly pissed, but amazed at how that was even a possibility. To this day, even with the Kings as my second favorite team, I can say this game still haunts me. At least the tickets were free.
